Esse álbum começou a ser gravado em 2000 por uma iniciativa de Keith Richards, um grande fã de Hubert Sumlin. Por problemas com estúdios e com a saúde de Sumlin essas gravações estenderam-se até 2004. Em 2002 Sumlin descobriu que tinha câncer no pulmão. Os amigos organizaram uma série de concertos para custear seu tratamento que acabou por extrair-lhe um dos pulmões. Ele recuperou-se e sobreviveu até 2011.
É comum quando os velhos mestres do blues decidem gravar um novo disco que haja uma série de convidados especiais e esse não é diferente — muito especiais, aliás. No mais, se quiser ouvir o legítimo blues de Chicago no século 21, não melhor opção.
