Chet Baker - My Funny Valentine (1994)



Todas as músicas que estão nessa coletânea foram gravadas em 1954, quando Baker estava no melhor de sua voz, bochechas e criatividade. O título do disco é uma ironia, já que a moça aí na foto o havia feito vender a camisa para comprar-lhe um presente de Dia dos Namorados, mas insatisfeita, queria que ele também vendesse o trompete — veja como se agarra à ele o pobre. Coisas assim levaram Chet ao vício e talvez essa seja a mesma janela da qual tenha saltado anos depois.

This is one of my all-time favorite albums, along with "Chet Baker and Strings." Those are two of the albums I always put on when I want music that's relaxing that I can hum along with. He was such an incredible musician -- the world got a little darker when he passed away.
