A Faces veio da Small Faces depois que ela se desfez quando o Steve Marriott saiu para formar o Humble Pie. Os caras que ficaram convidaram o Rod Stewart e o Ron Wood que, por sua vez, tinham saído do Jeff Beck Group. Enquanto a Small era uma banda mod, a Faces era rock & roll e sempre muito comparada aos Stones.
