Sindicatos de operários suíços acusam a Fifa de não estar respeitando os direitos humanos na preparação do Brasil para a Copa de 2014, além de alertar que milhares serão obrigados a deixar suas casas e que os lucros do Mundial ficarão em grande parte nas mãos da Fifa, e não do País.
"A Copa do Mundo vai gerar bilhões em renda para a Fifa. Já a população brasileira será em grande parte excluída dessa festa, que poderá se transformar até mesmo em um pesadelo para os mais pobres", disse Alexandre Mariéthoz, porta-voz do Solidar. "A Fifa se recusa a pagar impostos. Após o Mundial, o Brasil se encontrará com uma montanha de dívidas, como a África do Sul após a Copa de 2010", declarou. Para a entidade, a Fifa deveria pagar impostos no Brasil a partir dos lucros que realizar com o Mundial.

Hoje é o Dia Internacional dos Direitos Humanos. Curiosamente, no Brasil também é o Dia do Palhaço.

O "Rock" in Rio terminou ontem, recebendo no total mais de mais de 700 mil espectadores. Atraiu ao Rio de Janeiro cerca de 310 mil turistas — 20% estrangeiros — que gastaram algo em tono de R$ 800 milhões na cidade. Isso sem falar na TV, patrocinadores... — 200 países puderam assistir. Até os garís faturaram, já que por R$ 20 botavam gente prá dentro nos seus carrinhos de lixo.
E é a isso que tudo se resume: grana.
Musicalmente, com excessões feitas a Motörhead, Steve Wonder e Elton John, foi um desfile de picaretas, medíocres, posers e mercenários. Assim sendo, a próxima edição bem que poderia ser feita em Brasília, né não? Reforça essa idéia o fato de terem ocorrido mais de 400 assaltos, só no primeiro fim de semana.

I'm deeply ashamed. Yesterday, Brazil's Supreme Court has decided to release Cesare Battisti who is sentenced to life in Italy for quadruple murder. He will be not extradited as the italian government has demanded. I really thought that the time when my country was a shelter for foreign criminals was over - as if we were not enough of ours. Brazil is going backwards.
As you can see, our Supreme Court is set in a beautiful palace, and as all public buildings in Brasilia, it is full of rats, stupid arrogant little rats.
Also yesterday, an important minister resigned for being involved in corruption. For the second time! Rats everywhere.
Brazil has the second biggest italian community outside Italy; the most part of my own family is italian, so, I have no words to describe my sorrow. I feel like a drunken man's son: I love my country but I'm ashamed of it.
By the way...that lady at the picture, she has a bag of coins under the skirt.

You should know that in Brazil the New Year begins after the Carnival. Not exactly right after, cos it takes a few days more for vomit, headache and lazyness. Charles de Gaulle once said this was not a serious country. He had only a small clue.

After eight years, our molluscan president left the building. Like Paul, the german octopus, he's a lucky guy. He has received a modernized country with a low inflation rate; four well planned social programs which he merged in one; all state-owned inefficient companies were privatized and so on. He has done nothing, the Nation went well by its own.
On the other hand, if our industries increase their production in 5%, there will be no more electricity; our portuary docks are the most expensive and slowest; we have almost no railroads and only 6% of our roads are paved.
Yes, he's very popular and his govern has a high approval. What can I say? He's not the only idiot, nor the biggest one.
