Quando Tim Bogert e Carmine Appice foram se juntar à Jeff Beck, o Duane Hitchings quis levar a banda adiante com esse nome de New Cactus Band. Para completar, chamou o ex-Iron Butterfly, Mike Pinera. O som desse único álbum não lembra muito a Cactus.
