Esse álbum é uma homenagem ao Doo-wop, estilo que ele adorava e colecionava. Algumas músicas do Freak Out! foram re-arranjadas de um jeito hilário e outras foram compostas com letras propositadamente imbecís. A capa do disco mostra uma banda chamada Rubben & The Jetts e os dizeres num balão: "É o Mothers Of Invention tocando sob outro nome na derradeira tentativa de colocar sua música tosca no rádio".
